The Roots Journal · Learn the Craft

Start with the leaf.

Herbal education, brewing basics and the rituals between sips — the journal is where the earth teaches.

Ingredient Spotlights

Know what’s in the cup

Botanical ingredients flat lay with journal

Lavender — the calm one

The bud that earned Calm Queen her name. Floral and honeyed, lavender has been the evening sip of slow hours for centuries. A little goes far — it shares the cup politely.

Nettle, dandelion and milk thistle roots

Nettle & dandelion — the rooted ones

The earthy backbone of Root & Radiance. Green and grounded, softened with lemon balm — proof that the deepest flavors come from the roots up.

Rooibos and cinnamon blend

Rooibos — the warm one

Naturally caffeine-free and endlessly smooth, rooibos carries cinnamon and ginger in Endurance the way amber carries light — warmly, without shouting.

How to brew a proper cup

Water, not fire

Just-off-the-boil for most blends — a bare simmer for green tea. Scalded leaves go bitter; patient water goes sweet.

Cover the cup

Keep a lid on it while it steeps — the volatile notes stay in the cup instead of escaping with the steam.

Steep 5–7 minutes

Botanicals are slower than tea leaves. Let them take their time; a tea timer is a ritual, not a chore.

Sip it slow

This part is not optional. The ritual is the point — the cup is just the vehicle.

Make it a ritual

A morning reset looks like: warm water first, Morning Glow while the house is still quiet, lashes placed with the light low. An evening exhale: Calm Queen, the satin bonnet, the journal. Ritual is just self-care that kept its promise.
